THIS IS ME

Hello there! I'm glad you made it here!

Honestly, I strongly believe writing a catchy text about myself and why I'm probably the coolest communication designer you'll ever cross paths with is one of the hardest things one can be asked to do - that and putting a half eaten chocolate bar back into the wrapping paper to "save it for later".

This is where you come to find out who I am, what I do and why I do what I do.
Maybe you're also secretly hoping to spot a professional picture of me to get to know the face behind this website (even though I'm sorry, I have to disappoint you with this one). I tried my best to nail down what it is I'm all about on this page.

But the best way to really get to know more about me is to reach out and start a project together.

Feel free to reach out to me via Email or Instagram and I'll get back to you as quick as possible.

MY PHILOSOPHY

what i'm all about

Because I'm all about the face. Not in the literal way, but more in the way of what it actually means to have a face. It's about characteristics that make a person, a brand or a product recognisable and stand out from the crowd - and this is what I see as part of my mission with every project I get the chance to be working on.
My work ethic really wouldn't be complete if my ambition was to only make a good project. A great project, one that stays in mind and is successful, is all about identity, is about confidently standing for itself, no matter if it's bold and colourful, or simple but significant.

Balance is key - what might sound like the slogan of a new Pilates Course is actually one of the most important pillars of my profession as a communication designer.
A designer is neither an artist nor an engineer - to walk the fine line between these disciplines is an all-time challenge. Being able to find balance between extremes in every concept, firstly, in the ideation and secondly, in the visual implementation is key for what I define the base of a great project outcome.

There are no problems, only challenges to be taken. This philosophy got me so far and it has proven itself very effective for me.
As soon as I start picturing myself in a challenge rather than a problem that needs to be solved I unlock a whole new level of self-consciousness and confidence in my skills and my potential. Challenge involves try and error and growth through discipline and experience. Challenge can be fun, even though it might be hard at first. And above all, challenge is nothing to be afraid of, but something to have respect for - and I'm up for that.

   HOW I GOT HERE

my
journey

   2012 - 2020
Pursing my A-Levels (Abitur) at Peter-Breuer-Gymnasium Zwickau was one of the greatest challenges of my life - at least that's what I thought back in 2020.
My academic year was the first to graduate high school during the global COVID-19 Pandemic and I can proudly claim I made the best out of it.
During my last two years of high school I pursued English and German as advanced courses and elaborated my knowledge further with the participation in special courses,
such as Communication Competences and Improvisation and Performance.
After 12 years of school education I graduated high school with a final grade of 1,0.

   2020 - Current
When the time came and I had finally graduated from high school, I found myself aiming for a new goal after I had achieved the one I had thrived to achieve for the past 12
years ahead. I was up for a challenge and scared of choosing the wrong direction, but - letting my intuition guide me through most of the process - I decided to ignore the
voices that kept asking why I didn't apply for an Undergraduate Program in Medicine or Law.
Since my interests had always been very broad, I decided for a program that combined as many different disciplines as possible: Communication Design.
Pursuing my Bachelor's Degree (B. A.) in my 4th semester at Macromedia University of Applied Sciences Campus Berlin, I am currently spending my days learning and
experiencing more about layouts, identities and media and honestly couldn't be more satisfied with my choice.

   2002 - Current
My urge to start this paragraph with "Since I've been born I always knew that..." is very intense, but claiming that I knew what I was all about since the beginning would be
nothing more than a flattering lie. I figured it out, but the way to get there wasn't as cinematic and linear as a well explained YouTube Tutorial on how to find yourself (and yes, I
   watched those as well).
I spent most of my life so far thinking that I had to decide for one or two things to be genuinely good at. I could still have hobbies and enjoy other things, but I thought in order
to be the best version of myself I had to invest myself into a special direction - but I couldn't even decide whether to pursue something creative or something rational.
I found myself right in the middle of everything - right where I thought I needed to escape from in the beginning. Instead of deciding for one thing, I decided to choose them all -
to go for something where I could balance out creativity and rational logic, since I'd been interested in both disciplines very deeply.
In Communication Design I'm able to take new challenges constantly - no project briefing is like another and clients and tasks need my services for all kinds of media and
applications. The less I know about something, the easier I get invested in a project: the ability to create meaningful products by using my broad set of interests is what really
   drives me forward professionally.
